In 1915, the Sisters of Loretto established a university that only admitted women, with the first graduating class consisting of two women.
Renamed
In 1983, the university was renamed Webster University.
Tashkent branch
In 2019, Webster University opened its branch in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, becoming the first American university in the country. The branch is Webster University's largest abroad.
